British Telecom BT Technical Department Scam James Wilson 001 949 715 7933 Prank Call

BT Skills
Fraudsters falsely claiming to be from the British Telecom (BT) Technical Department tell me that my Internet is going to be cut off because they are receiving errors from my computer. One of them claims he is called James Wilson. They try (and fail) to get me to load Windows Event Viewer (which just shows standard Windows messages which are nothing to worry about), then try (and fail) to find out about my bank, then try (and fail) to get me to download TeamViewer (which would enable them to take control of my computer and wipe data or load malicious software like keyloggers). In short it is the “Microsoft” Technical Support scam, just with a different company name. This is an outing for actor Clarence Hamilton Duke, who never quite works either in his own world or as a character, but I keep trying.
