Invalid clicks, or click fraud, can be really frustrating when you are trying to run your Google Ads campaign. This eats up the budget and is usually sabotaged by your competitors to drive up your ad costs.
Some ad publishers also click on the ads displayed on their own sites via Google Adsense to generate more revenue for themselves.
In this video, I will set out some of the steps to prevent it.
Click fraud or invalid clicks is any interaction with your ad that hasn’t come from a person with real interest in your business. Sometimes this can be accidental, but sometimes it can be a deliberate click from competitors and this happens in many niches like locksmith, plumbing, etc.
Set up IP Exclusions
If you have identified the IP address associated with possible click fraud, you can block that IP to prevent your ads being shown in the future.
Use 3rd Party Apps
Use 3rd party click fraud apps to add another layer of protection for your Google Ads account.
Run GDN Campaigns
If you feel that your ads are being clicked on your Search ads, then try running some of the ads on the Google Display Network. With lower CPCs, you reduce the high CPC cost associated with the Search Network.
