Three items can take up your Google Account space: Gmail, Google Drive, and Google photos. You can see how much space you have free or used, depending on how you look at it, by scrolling to the bottom left in Gmail.

When you click Manage, you can see the three areas taking up space – Drive, Gmail, and Photos.

Click the arrow to open Google Drive, and it will displace the files taking up the most space first. It is sorted in Descending or largest to smallest order. Right-click the files you do not need and remove them. Don’t forget to empty the Trash.

Free up space in Gmail

Click the arrow for search options and using the size field, put in the size of the emails you are looking for in MB. The higher the size the less you will find, but the larger files you will find. For example: putting in 8 MB will find fewer files than putting in 3 MB.
After searching, select the email you don’t want and delete them. Don’t forget to empty the Trash.
