Google recently rolled out an update to its Android application that adds a couple of accessibility toggles to the feature. This includes a brand new category for the Google Assistant settings too.

If you have TalkBack enabled, a chime will sound when the Google Assistant is ready and finished listening to your voice command.

Until now, there wasn’t a way for the user to disable the feature but the latest update to the Google application changed that.

Once disabled (and again, this only changes things for those who have TalkBack turned on), then you’ll no longer hear a chime play when the microphone begins accepting a new voice command and when it finishes.

This is different from the standard chime you (most likely) hear when saying the “OK, Google” hotword. Disabling these two toggles will not change anything for most users.

This only changes thing for those who have the TalkBack Android accessibility feature enabled.
