Accessibility at Google: Lessons Learned – axe-con 2023

Google Learning
Building with and for the disability community ensures that we’re able to create technology that can level the playing field and make the world a more accessible place. In the past ten years, I’ve had the opportunity to lead Google’s Central Accessibility team, building it up from a grassroots effort to a cross-company initiative. Along the way, I’ve learned many lessons around gaining buy-in and prioritization for accessibility across a large organization, and setting up an organization, tools, and resources to help our product teams be successful. My hope is that some of these lessons resonate with you as you drive progress in accessibility in the companies you work for.
