Google Learning
Did you know that 25% of the U.S. Population has a (dis)ability in some form? Did you know that 55% of the workforce will have a (dis)ability by the time they reach retirement age?

Motivational speaker, author, and researcher Paul Artale visits Talks at Google to discuss how he blends his life of being born with what others would see as a (dis)ability with research and best practices.

In this Talk we explore:
-Why (dis)ability as an identity is unique and what needs to be understood about it
-What the social model of (dis)ability is and how it impacts all of us
-How workplace flexibility and work-life balance cultures at work are the best tool for creating an ability-friendly environment

Born with what some would call a “disability” Paul overcame adversity and achieved his dream of playing college football for the University of Toronto. He is in his final stages of PhD research that focuses on the benefits of workplace flexibility and work-life initiatives and their impact on job satisfaction and turnover intention.

Author of the book “The 2-Year-Old’s Guide to Work-Life Balance”, Paul is an award-winning speaker, having twice been a semi-finalist in the world championships of public speaking where he placed in the top 25 out of over 35,000 contestants. He is also an Accredited Speaker via Toastmasters International – a designation less than .0001% of members have achieved in the organizations 100 year history. Best of all, Paul is the father to two amazing children; his son Alessio (6) and daughter Sofia (3). For more information visit www.paulartale.com.
