Google has announced a new tool designed to improve web search for users who have trouble seeing. Designed by T.V. Raman, a researcher who is blind due to childhood glaucoma, this feature aims to help blind users find information online that is both relevant to what they’re searching for and easy to read with a screen reader. Raman says this tool favors pages with minimal visual elements and can thus be “listened to” easily.
