National Apprenticeship Week 2011 launched in London on Monday 7 February 2011 at an event hosted by BT. The event provided inspiration and support to businesses who did not yet employ apprentices.
The launch event saw over 150 high profile employers from a large variety of sectors discuss and debate how Apprenticeships provided transformational benefits to organisations.
Senior government ministers from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Rt Hon Vince Cable and John Hayes, along with the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, spoke at the event to show their commitment to Apprenticeships as a vital driver of growth. They also challenged the employers there to take on apprentices.
